Hi, I’m Richard —retired Army veteran and passionate pen maker. After years of service, I found a new mission in craftsmanship. What started as a hobby quickly became a deep creative outlet and a business I love.

My journey into pen making began over 40 years ago, thanks to a gentleman named James Hood from South Africa. James became a mentor and a friend, introducing me to the craft and inspiring my very first pen-making adventure. His guidance and passion sparked something in me that’s still going strong today.

At Pentastic106, I handcraft each pen using a mix of exotic hardwoods like purpleheart and ebony, and custom-cast resin blanks I make myself. I’m always experimenting—sometimes combining materials others might overlook—because I believe every pen should be as unique as the person who holds it.

In addition to pen making, I also offer laser engraving and laser cutout work—perfect for adding personalized touches or custom designs to pens, boxes, or just about anything else that needs a creative edge.
